Nelson Deedle, a prominent celebrity autograph dealer, has donated memorabilia to many fundraising auctions for charities around the globe. Known for his dedication to community service, Nelson Deedle worked with Elizabeth Taylor on a campaign to educate high school students about AIDS prevention.
Even though Ms. Taylor passed on in 2011 at 79 years old, she made arrangements for the work of the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation to continue in perpetuity. As a means to this goal, the Foundation hired Joel Goldman as its first managing director. In addition, Ms. Taylor’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren serve as Foundation ambassadors to honor the legacy the Hollywood icon created by helping people affected by the AIDS virus.
During her lifetime, Ms. Taylor was recognized by various world leaders for her philanthropic work with the AIDS community. She received the Legion d’Honneur from the French, as well as the Presidential Citizens Medal from President Clinton. Queen Elizabeth II also named her a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
